On September 24th I took a pregnancy test in the evening to see if maybe the swimmers did their job and busted through. It came back negative. I took another test the next morning and it also came back negative. Even though I was still FIVE days away from even having my period, I wanted to just see if maybe it would show up because I was flying to Phoenix for a teacher training that weekend and wanted to know before I left. The thought held that maybe I could still be pregnant, considering I took the test too early, so when I got back from Phoenix I took a third test on September 29th. That was the day I should have had my period. It was 6AM, I had about 6 hours of sleep under my belt since my flight from AZ got in late the night before, and I proceeded with the ever so careful method of peeing on the stick: stick face down, pee for 5 seconds, cap on, lay flat for 3 minutes. TMI? Probably! Anyway, as I'm brushing my teeth, I tried to ignore the test because I didn't even want to look at that thing until 3 minutes were up. Of course that didn't happen. I peeked over before the Sonicare had even finished its first 30 second cycle beep and saw double lines= PREGNANT instantly. I've learned from past experience that I don't need to take 6 tests like last time to confirm it. I could feel it it my body, so I had a hunch, but of course I was still surprised.
I woke up Austin who was confused considering it was 6AM, he was in a dead sleep, and wondering what was so important that I didn't even rinse my mouth from brushing my teeth before coming to get him. He got up and was very excited.
