Week 23

We had our 23 week appointment yesterday at 3:20. It was a basic check up where I got a few questions answered about some concerns I was having about a couple things. All is well! Also, we heard the heartbeat, which was 150 bpm. He measured my belly and it was 28 cm. The average size of a belly is a centimeter for every week pregnant, so needless to say I was measuring quite big. It may not be the baby, but instead just ME getting bigger! I can say that I definitely know I have been much bigger, much faster with baby Cruz than with Karmella. Everyone and every pregnancy is so different, though. As long as we have a healthy baby on board, that's all that matters.

We actually met with Dr. Forseth today because Dr. Ezell was out on emergency. Austin had helped Forseth buy a car recently so they knew each other, so that was cool. We really liked him! I brought up some concerns with a few things I saw in our 18 week ultrasound that have been on my mind, and Dr. Forseth was so awesome, he said, "I'll tell you what. Let's schedule another ultrasound in 4 weeks so the ultrasound tech can answer any questions you had about what you saw and I will code it medically necessary so your insurance will cover it. I will just code it that the belly size is much bigger than the week pregnant." YAY! I wanted another ultrasound so badly, but insurance only covers one and we have already had two. They are about $300 a pop, so unless the doctor codes it medically necessary, we pay out of our own pocket. He was very cool to do that. He is basically doing us a favor to ease my mind. I can't wait to see baby Cruz again!! I know the things I am/was concerned about is nothing because Dr. Ezell would have said something at our first ultrasound, but this will just be a "piece of mind" ultrasound, along with an opportunity to see baby boy again. We were spoiled in Vegas because we got like 5-6 total ultrasounds for no reason! They just do it differently there, I guess. Plus my insurance was A-MAZING in Las Vegas. Here at Billings Public Schools, I haven't been impressed with the insurance benefits!

Ultrasound appointment = March 7 at 4:20 PM. CAN'T WAIT!
Glucose Screening Test = March 10 at 2PM. I have to leave work early that day.

Cruz, Kruze, Kruz, Cruze.....toying with different spellings of his name? We have been spelling it Cruz, but I don't know?
