Here are some stats from the last couple appointments: (I really just do this for my own reference because I love to look back, especially if I have another one. I have looked at my old blog stats a lot to compare to this pregnancy).
March 17 I had my glucose test and my 28 week appointment. I passed the glucose test with flying colors, so I will not have to go back and take the second one, which is 3 hours and they draw your blood 3 times. I actually got to eat jelly beans versus the drink for this glucose test. My belly measurement was 28 cm (right on track with 28 weeks pregnant), weight 151 morning and 154 at appointment, and baby's heartbeat was between 140-150 bpm. On February 7 when I was 23 weeks pregnant, my belly also measured 28 cm! So, my belly hasn't grown from 23 to 28 weeks, which is good, because I caught up to where I was supposed to be. I had blossomed big really fast, so it was nice to see it slow down. The ultrasound at 27 weeks showed the baby was the correct size, so as long as he is growing normally that is all that really matters.
March 28 (yesterday)I had my 30 week appointment. My belly measurement was 30-31 cm (still on track with 30 weeks pregnant), weight 150 morning and 153 at appointment (oddly I lost a pound from the last appointment), and the baby's heartbeat was about 160 bpm. At this point I need to go to the doctor every 2 weeks. They just check my blood pressure, check urine for protein, measure my belly, and we listen to the heartbeat. Nothing big will happen at the appointments until I'm 36 weeks when I take the Group B Strep test.
Total weight gain so far at 30 weeks: 26 pounds. Again, these stats are mostly just for my reference, but I don't mind sharing all these personal details! :-)
BABY SHOWER
I had a baby shower with coworkers on Thursday, 3/24/11 at Santa Fe Reds with 2 other gals who are pregnant at my school. My coworkers were very generous and kind; I didn't expect gifts, especially because there are 3 of us pregnant at my school, but we were spoiled anyway. Then, I had my baby shower with friends and family on March 26 at our house. It was very nice. I enjoyed seeing everyone and opening all the gifts for a baby boy. It is so different to have all these boy colors versus pink! Reality set in that we are having a boy when I saw all the clothes. Wow. 10 more weeks to go! I can't believe I am already 30 weeks. With Karmella, Austin and I were like, "OH MY GOSH, I'M 30 WEEKS FINALLY! IT'S GO TIME!" Even though we still had 2 more months. With this one, we're like, "Wow, I'm ALREADY 30 weeks? Well, at least we still have 2 more months to prepare!" Time goes much faster with the second pregnancy and our whole mentality is different! I'm so much more relaxed and I am not rushing anything at this point. We have a lot of preparation to do, particularly in setting up Cruz's room and getting settled into a new house, meaning.....
NEW HOUSE INFO.
We just found out yesterday that we may be pushing forward with the purchase of a house. They accepted our offer and sent us a buy/sell agreement yesterday! OH MY GOSH! We are so excited. I have been looking for either a 4 bedroom rental or a house to buy for the past 7 months with no luck. We finally found a house we were interested in buying and have been discussing payments, terms, etc, and making a final decision on if we want this house for sure for about 2 weeks now. Well, the sellers came back yesterday accepting our terms and now the process has started. We will get an appraisal, then home inspection, meet with the bank again, etc. I know if something doesn't pan out with the inspection or appraisal, we may not move forward, so nothing is guaranteed yet until we have the keys in our hands and close, which is scheduled to happen on April 30. I am hoping things work out, but again, my entire trust is in God and what he wants for our family. I have been so patient and relaxed these past 7 months as I've been looking for a house because I know He is working in our lives and I have left everything in His hands, so if we are meant to have this house we will. If not, then we'll keep looking. I can feel a season of change happening. First, Austin got a promotion at work within the past couple weeks, which brought a lot of security to our family. Now, the house situation may be working out with a close date of April 30. Then of course baby Cruz will be here around June 5, and I'll be ending the school year about that time and preparing for summer vacation with our new baby, new big sister Karmella, and maybe a new house. Things ALWAYS come all at once with us for some reason. Remember the summer of 2009 we moved to a new state/house, we started new jobs, we got married, went on our honeymoon, all while having a 7 month old. God works the way he does for a reason.
